Payroll Specialist
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly and biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
Prepare and maintain payroll reports, forms, and documentation.
Investigate discrepancies between hours worked and hours paid, and communicate issues to the appropriate teams.
Ensure payroll data is collected and entered accurately in UltiPro.
Partner with field management to resolve payroll questions and issues.
Coordinate communication between Human Resources and Payroll.
Assist with payroll projects, including analysis and testing.
Support compliance with local, state, and federal payroll tax laws and reporting requirements, and ensure payments are made to the appropriate agencies.
Review restaurant managers’ monthly payroll reconciliations.
Help ensure W-2s are accurate and distributed on time; support year-end processing and adjustments.
Complete special projects and prepare reports as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience with payroll software and related computer applications.
Experience processing payroll across multiple states; experience with New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Georgia is preferred.
Knowledge of payroll tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures, amounts, percentages, and financial calculations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, using sound initiative and judgment.
Discretion in handling highly confidential information.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels and across departments.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with close attention to detail.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with competing demands and tight deadlines.
